If this is still at all a possibility, I felt I should mention that my boyfriend is friends with members of some of the bigger DC bands and that I'm sure I can convince him to persuade them to play a fest down in the bayou. Damn it sounds like I'm bragging, but really I'm just trying to take advantage of this situation.
I can't remember all of the bands he knows, but definitely The Pietasters, Eastern Standard Time, and Iron Cross. I'll talk to him some more about it and let you guys know what's possible to work out.

It seems silly to set up a thing in a city none of us live in, but it's mufuckin New Orleans! I'm so down.

Wellll... I talked to Maddie just for the hell of it and she says there aren't really any skins down there. None that would be too interested in an oi fest. This, and the fact that we would be setting up a fest in a city none of us live in that is in no way lacking in music or music festivals... does indeed make this seem pretty silly.
If you guys wanted to try to organize something somewhere else a little more realistic that has some skins and rudies and so on, that could have potential.

Nah, the whole damn point is to go to New Orleans.
Basically, my thought was to get the Scars to book a show there, maybe with another good band, and then we go watch them play and get stonking drunk. Anything else was gravy.
