Although from the Democratic side the results won't carry any weight, I guess a statement was made. Anywho, (unofficial)results came out like so:
REP McCain - 36% Romney - 31% Guiliani - 14.6% Huckabee - 13.5% Paul - 3.2% Thompson - 1.2% Keyes - 0.2% Hunter - 0.1% Tancredo - 0.1%
DEM Clinton - 49.7% Obama - 33% Edwards - 14.4% Biden - 0.9% Richardson - 0.9% Kucinich - 0.6% Dodd - 0.3% Gravel - 0.3%
AMENDMENT 1 Yes - 64.1% No - 35.9%
And on a more local level, in Leon County McCain gave Romney a boot to the head with McCain pulling in 38.87% to Romneys 27.07%. And Obama lifted Hillary's skirt and spanked her bulbous ass mercilessly pulling 47.27% to her 32.6%. If all of Florida was as smart as the folks in Leon County the Amendment 1 farce would've fallen at 63.68% in the No to 36.32% Yes.
I know it was just a primary and that for Democrats nothing was really won or lost, but it still makes me both sad and angry that only 49.52% of registered voters even take the time to go to the polls. A sad day in Tune Town.
It seems Edwards has pulled out of the race (a Clinton/Edwards ticket in the future?) and Guiliani may announce the same shortly. Hmmmm.... I'm disappointed by Edwards exit. Anyone who refuses to accept being bought out by PAC donactions while everyone else is selling their (and our) souls for campaign funding, and let's David Letterman ruffle his hair on national TV should at least stand a fighting chance. Eh! Ah well. The race continues.

I'd like to suggest that we draw a line through Florida right below Gainesville and let that whole southern bit be its own state. Let them continue to rely on failing tourist dollars and the revenue brought in by hurricanes if they want to.

i second that motion. all in favor?
that's actually very similar to the thoughts i was having as i looked over the results. they do have a north dakota/south dakota, north carolina/south carolina thing going. i think they've got the right idea. let dade and collier and palm bch county fight their own battles. they can live with the legacy of "hanging chads" that they made for themselves. we may have the beaches but we don't have the high rise condo's sitting on them (yet). we'll take panama city, st george and port st joe and they can have the mouse house. they can have the art deco of miami bch but we want weeki wachi. they can have um but we get fsu and uf. and hell, let's take ocala while we're at it. how do we get that on the ballot?

I think we just have to collect a mess of signatures. Shouldn't take more than a week.
Oh, here's Ron Paul's site's take on his whopping 3%:
"It looks like Florida has eliminated Rudy Giuliani tonight. How long before Huck, too, goes the way of Brownback, Tancredo, Gilmore, Hunter and the two Thompsons? It’s a four-man race now: McCain, Romney, Huckabee, and Ron Paul."
